Mission and Role

LCPD evolved from Leeds Psychotherapy Training Institute (LPTI) which was established in 1994. LPTI offered a psychotherapy training programme at Masters level as well as occasional short courses and workshops, which Robin and Jane ran successfully for 19 years.  In creating LCPD their purpose was to use their considerable experience as trainers and supervisors to offer training, supervision and continuing professional development to qualified practitioners through professional development groups, training events and workshops and individual supervision. 

Jane Walford, the Director of LCPD, is a teaching and supervising psychotherapist and she is passionate about passing on her knowledge and experience to post-qualification practitioners.  She aims to  broaden and deepen the practitioner’s understanding of the nature of people and relationships through an integrative, relational and humanistic approach.  Jane maintains a strong focus on the individual style and developmental needs of the practitioner and accounts the value of theoretical and practical insights from different modalities within the profession.
